Early release day Decenber 20, 2023
In order to provide our teachers and staff regular opportunities for professional development, Escambia County Public Schools scheduled three early-release days for students during the 2023-2024 school year. The remaining early release date, Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Has been cancelled. February 7 will be a full day for students and teachers.
Superintendent Keith Leonard has announced that schools and district offices will operate on a normal, full-day schedule on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
“In order to do our best to ensure there is no question about meeting our state-mandated instructional minutes requirement, we will change Wednesday, February 7 from a half-day for students to a full day for all students and staff,” said ECPS Superintendent Keith Leonard. “All normal school activities and extracurricular activities will proceed, as well.”
All district offices and services, including Transportation and Food Services, will operate on a normal, school-day schedule.
There are also early-release dates immediately prior to Christmas Break and the last day of the 2023-2024 School Year. Those additional dates for students early-release are Wednesday, December 20, 2023 and Wednesday, May 22. 2024.
On all early release dates schools will serve lunch and regular transportation will be provided. For more information or questions about your school’s specific release time, please contact the school.
Office Hours: 6:50 A.M. - 2:00 P.M.
School Start Time: 7:10 A.M.
Drop off/Breakfast Time: 6:50 A.M. - 7:05 A.M.
Tardy Bell rings at 7:10 A.M.
1:00 P.M. is the latest time students may be checked out in order for us to safely prepare for dismissal.
Dismissal Time: 1:25 P.M.
Buses leave campus: 1:30 P.M.

Car Rider release time: 1:15 pm
Bus departure time: 1:30 pm
• No student checkouts after 1:00 pm
